The World Materials Research Institutes Forum
A common voice for materials science and engineering around the world.

WMRIF was formed in 2005 at an international meeting of directors of 15 national materials research institutes from 8 countries.  Currently, 51 institutes from six continents are members of WMRIF.

Today, WMRIF supports innovations in the field of materials research and engineering through mutual information exchange and shared use of research facilities. It serves as a forum for lively discussions on global strategies related to future materials needs. WMRIF is working to promote material strategies in order to address environmental and energy issues.

The WMRIF Presidency and Secretariat currently resides at the NIST Material Measurement Laboratory (MML), USA. For more information on activities or how to become a member, please contact the WMRIF Secretary.
